Welcome to the Artists of Kentucky Archive, your resource to Kentucky’s artists past and present. The pages linked from here showcase Kentucky's
visual artists, musicians, creative writers and performing artists. Early sites are concentrated in South Central Kentucky where are early volunteers and supporters are based, however all Kentucky is to be included.
A community’s artists are one of it’s most valuable assets. Investing in the
arts and local artists is good for our economy, cultural understanding and
community development. The Internet offers a unique vehicle by which
anyone, anywhere can experience a wider range of artistic expression
provided artists have the means to effectively utilize its limitless
opportunities for exposure.
These sites are created, maintained and cross referenced
by Artists of Kentucky and are financed through community support,
donations and fundraisers with no cost to the individual artists. You can become a supporter of Artists of Kentucky. All donations, no matter how small help to make this possible. All sites
within the network are approved for General Audiences and you will be prompted
if you are linking outside of our network.
It is our goal to create broader public access to our area
artists and our community by creating an all inclusive network of websites
and we welcome submissions of additional information about our area artists
for use in this database. Artists of Kentucky is also involved in local promotion of our areas artists through its Festival of Arts beginning in 2000. You can help this endeavor by spreading the word about the site.
